1. lay out
lay out本意表示“擺放”:
Grace laid out the knives and forks on the table.
格雷絲把刀叉擺放在桌子上。
把物件擺放好就引申成了“清晰地表達(dá)”:
The code of practice lays out very clearly what the duties of the registrar are.
行為規(guī)范清楚寫(xiě)明了注冊(cè)員的責(zé)任。
2. lazybone
lazybonnes就是我們常說(shuō)的“懶骨頭”。
除了lazy“懶”還可以說(shuō):
①idle
He's a very able student, he's just bone idle (= very lazy).
他是個(gè)能力很強(qiáng)的學(xué)生,只是太懶了。
②indolent
Those who revel in the Internet tend to lead an indolent life.
沉迷于網(wǎng)絡(luò)的人往往過(guò)著懶散的生活。
③slothful
He was not slothful: he had been busy all night.
他可沒(méi)偷懶:他忙了整整一夜。
④sluggish
A heavy lunch makes me sluggish in the afternoon.
豐盛的午餐使我一下午都懶得動(dòng)彈。
⑤slack off
Do not slack off in your studies.
學(xué)習(xí)上不可懈怠。
